Understanding Skin Aging
Our skin is a complex structure comprising several layers, each serving a distinct purpose. The outermost layer, the epidermis, consists of the stratum corneum, transparent layer, granular layer, and stratum basale. Below the epidermis lies the dermal layer, which itself is divided into the papillary and reticular layers. Further beneath, we find subcutaneous tissues extending from below the dermis to above the fascia.
Given the diversity of skin components across these layers and the varying degrees of aging, it is essential to tailor appropriate skincare measures for each layer.
